Domaine Jean Grivot is one of the most respected estates of Vosne-Romanée, renowned for refined, terroir-faithful Burgundy. Clos de Vougeot is one of the largest and most historic Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte de Nuits, and Grivot's holding yields a wine of real depth and presence.
This is a powerful yet elegant Pinot Noir, with aromas of cassis and dark cherry, rose petal and incense, layered with cedar, forest floor and a savoury, earthy complexity. The palate is rich and structured, with ripe fruit, fine tannins, bright acidity and a long, complex finish.
A serious Grand Cru built for the long haul, it will reward years of cellaring. Serve with game, roast beef, duck and truffle dishes.
