Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is one of the most storied estates in all of Burgundy, based in the village of Chambolle-Musigny and the largest landholder in the legendary Musigny Grand Cru. Its Vieilles Vignes cuvée is the estate's flagship, made from the oldest vines in this revered vineyard.
A profound expression of Pinot Noir, it combines power and silk in equal measure. Expect a complex bouquet of red and dark cherry, plum, rose petal and violet, layered with spice, liquorice, cocoa and subtle earthy, smoky notes. The palate is full-bodied yet wonderfully refined, with ripe, fine-grained tannins, a seamless core of fruit and a long, perfumed finish.
Now showing the grace of bottle age, this is a wine for a very special occasion. Serve with roast game, duck, truffle dishes and fine cheeses.
