Le Volte is the gateway to the Ornellaia family of wines, made by the iconic Bolgheri estate as a more approachable, early-drinking counterpart to its famous super-Tuscan flagship. Fruit is drawn from younger vines across the estate as well as selected parcels in the broader Toscana IGT zone.
The blend is built around Merlot with supporting Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented in stainless steel and aged in a mix of concrete and barrique. Expect a deep ruby with aromas of ripe cherry, blackberry, sweet spice and a twist of black pepper. The palate is rounded and generous, with supple tannins, juicy acidity and a fresh, fruit-driven finish.
Drinks brilliantly on release and partners with everything from a Tuscan ragù to grilled steak, charcuterie boards or a Friday-night pizza.
