Edouard Confuron crafts this Coteaux Bourguignons from vines spread across several plots in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, including parcels around Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. It is a roughly equal blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay, offering a fresh, approachable introduction to the domaine's style.
The wine pours a bright ruby-purple. Pinot Noir leads on the palate with succulent red cherry and raspberry, while the Gamay adds a savoury, mouth-watering lift behind it. Whole-bunch handling and a lighter touch in the cellar give it a clean, perfumed character and an appealing, refreshing finish with good length.
Serve it lightly chilled to accent its freshness alongside charcuterie, roast vegetables or simple bistro fare.
