René Rostaing’s son Pierre has now taken up the reins of this domaine and is running it very successfully. In the winery, Pierre continues to use predominantly whole-bunch fermentation, and maturation in demi-muid barrels. The domaine’s style endures too, beautifully showcasing the terroir and producing extremely dark, rich and long-lived wines. Pierre comments that in 2019, as with 2018, the grapes matured very quickly in the latter part of the growing season. This meant that, when it came to picking, the fruit was ripe and extremely healthy, resulting in wines of wonderful phenolic complexity.
