Sited in the far northwest corner of Nuits-St-Georges, bordering Vosne, Les Damodes spans the upper to mid-slope, on a skin of poor limestone over the hard limestone bedrock. Tomoko and Guillaume first made this wine in 2015—their first foray into the Côte de Nuits—from vines exposed east, planted in the early 1990s. Negocé.
“Mid purple, crushed strawberry, discreet though from this site. A fine weight of flavour here, while the vinification style is more evident than Nuits-St-Georges, though again this is Damodes higher on the hill.”
