Domaine Sylvain Cathiard is a family estate based in Vosne-Romanée, run since 2011 by Sébastien Cathiard, who took over from his father Sylvain. Best known for its Vosne-Romanée premier crus, the domaine also tends a village parcel just to the north in Chambolle-Musigny, bottled under the name Les Clos de l'Orme.
Chambolle-Musigny is famed for the most delicate, perfumed expression of Pinot Noir in the Côte de Nuits, and this cuvée captures that character with Cathiard's trademark polish. Expect lifted aromas of raspberry, red cherry and violets, a silky, slightly rounder palate with fine structure underneath, and a long, fragrant finish.
Lovely with roast duck, veal, chicken with morels or a well-aged Comté, it will also reward a few years in the cellar.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
