'Téi' is Sandro Fay's everyday expression of Valtellina — named in dialect for the village of Teglio, where the family's terraced vineyards cling to the mountainsides of Lombardy's alpine north. Blended from around 90% Nebbiolo (locally known as Chiavennasca) with small amounts of Brugnola, Rossola and Pignola, it is the kind of wine that shows why this corner of Italy is so often compared to Piedmont.
Soft, supple and immediately approachable, the 2024 offers bright red cherry, cranberry and wild berry fruit, lifted florals and the signature alpine freshness of the region. Vinified entirely in stainless steel — both fermentation and maturation — to preserve the purity, energy and transparency that make Valtellina Nebbiolo so distinctive.
A food-friendly, easy-drinking red that pairs beautifully with the cured meats of the region like bresaola and prosciutto crudo, mountain cheeses such as Bitto, or simply a bowl of pasta.
