The Brezza family has farmed vines in Barolo since 1885 and has been bottling under its own name for more than a century. The certified organic estate focuses on Piedmont's native grapes, and this Langhe Nebbiolo offers an approachable introduction to the family's style.
The fruit comes from a west-facing vineyard of Lampia Nebbiolo in the commune of Barolo, planted in 1991 at around 300 metres. Fermented with a relatively brief skin maceration and raised without oak, the wine is bottled in the spring after harvest to preserve its freshness and varietal perfume.
Floral aromas of rose and violet lead into notes of strawberry, red cherry, orange peel and a touch of sweet spice and herbs. The palate is bright and fresh, with light, refined tannins and a gently bitter orange finish, ready to enjoy young.
Serve slightly cool alongside lighter summer dishes, pasta with meat sauce, charcuterie or even richer fish dishes.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
