Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey was founded in 2001 by Pierre-Yves Colin (son of Marc Colin) and his wife Caroline Morey. From a winery in Chassagne-Montrachet the estate handles small parcels across Saint-Aubin, Chassagne, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Santenay, all in the same exacting house style.
This Vieilles Vignes is the estate's village-level Chassagne, drawn from old-vine parcels on the Puligny side of the appellation. The combination of mature vines and stony, well-drained limestone soils gives a wine of real concentration and tension, often outpunching its village classification and standing comfortably alongside many Premier Crus.
The 2023 is racy and chiselled, with white peach, lemon zest and crushed limestone aromatics opening into a saline, deeply mineral palate. Whole-cluster pressing at high pressure, native-yeast fermentation in 350-litre barrels and patient lees ageing without bâtonnage give the wine its seamless texture and trademark cut.
