Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey was founded in 2001 by Pierre-Yves Colin (son of Marc Colin) and Caroline Morey. From the family cellars in Chassagne-Montrachet the estate works around 13 hectares across Saint-Aubin, Chassagne, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Santenay, applying the same exacting house style to every wine in the range.
This is the estate's village-level Meursault, drawn from a number of small lieu-dit parcels across the appellation. Meursault sits between Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay on the Côte de Beaune, on a long bench of clay-rich limestone that traditionally gives whites of generous, buttery weight. Pierre-Yves's bottling adds the cut and tension that have become his signature.
The 2023 is balanced and finely textured, with pear, white peach, hazelnut and a hint of crushed limestone running through a long, mineral close. Whole-cluster pressing at high pressure, native-yeast fermentation in 350-litre barrels and patient lees ageing without bâtonnage give the wine its seamless integration and depth without sacrificing line.
