Le Limozin is a named village site perched above Les Genevrières, high enough on the Meursault slope to retain a cool, mineral edge and well enough placed to carry real depth of fruit. With a little bottle age the site's two sides come into focus: the stony tension underneath and the quietly expanding orchard fruit above it.
The nose offers pear, yellow apple and lemon curd, with toasted hazelnut and a whiff of honeysuckle developing in the glass. The palate is supple and gently rounded, with fine acidity holding the shape and a chalky, faintly saline grip that carries a long, dry finish.
Pierre-Vincent Girardin, son of Vincent Girardin and the thirteenth generation of a winemaking family, started making wine in his father's two hectares as a teenager before establishing his own Meursault domaine in 2016. His trademark is the oversized 456 litre François Frères barrel, which slows the influence of oak and lets the site speak more clearly than a standard barrique allows.
