Domaine Joseph Colin was established in 2017 when Joseph Colin, son of Marc Colin and younger brother of Pierre-Yves Colin, carved out his own holdings from the family estate. Spread across Saint-Aubin, Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, the domaine has quickly earned a reputation for sharp, fresh, mineral-driven whites with clear terroir definition. This Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru comes from La Garenne, a cooler, higher site that yields wines of notable tension and precision.
Classic Puligny in style, it shows citrus, white peach and orchard fruit alongside white flowers, almond and a flinty, mineral undertone. The palate is taut and finely structured, with bright acidity and a long, saline, stony finish that reflects the elevated terroir, gently framed rather than dominated by oak.
Best served lightly chilled and with food such as scallops, oysters, lobster, poultry in cream sauce or fresh goat's cheese. A short time in the cellar will allow its layers to develop further.
