Génot-Boulanger is a family-run Meursault domaine working across a remarkable patchwork of premier and grand cru sites in both the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise. La Garenne is one of the higher Puligny-Montrachet premiers crus, sitting above the village on cool, limestone-rich slopes that lend the cuvée a notably tight, mineral profile.
The 2022 is precise, elegant and quietly intense. Red apple, fresh pear, citrus and white flowers lead, with hints of white tea and chamomile bringing a delicate floral lift towards the close. The palate is fine and tightly wound, with a bead of fresh acidity, restrained oak and a long, persistent finish that suggests it will reward time in the cellar.
Pair with simply prepared fish, shellfish, soft cheeses or roast poultry in cream sauce.
