Domaine Rougeot has been making wine in Meursault for five generations, with Marc Rougeot and his sons Pierre-Henri and Alexandre farming their vineyards organically and biodynamically. Wines are fermented with native yeasts and aged in traditional Burgundy barrels without fining or filtration.
Sous la Velle is the domaine's largest holding, a 2.2 hectare site spread over four plots with vines between 45 and 65 years old. Soils vary from water-retentive clay in one section to more limestone in another, giving a village Meursault with vibrant, inviting aromatics and generous ripe citrus. The palate is direct and finely textured, with a gentle richness that carries into a long finish.
A beautiful match for roast chicken, pork in a creamy sauce, scallops or soft washed-rind cheeses.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
