Domaine Rougeot Meursault Sous la Velle 2023 750ml
Sous la Velle — roughly translating to "below the village" — is a village-level lieu-dit at the foot of the Meursault hillside. Domaine Rougeot's parcel features vines around 55 years old growing on clay-dominant soils with gravel subsoil, producing a richer, more textured style than the mineral-driven Premier Crus higher up the slope.
Run by Pierre-Henri Rougeot, the eighth generation at this family domaine, the wine is Demeter-certified biodynamic from the 2023 vintage. Whole-bunch pressed, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and aged around 20 months in barrel without fining, filtration or bâtonnage. Generous and layered with white peach, quince, lemon curd and almond, balanced by fresh acidity.
