From Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, one of Burgundy's most quietly celebrated estates, based at the Château de Chambolle-Musigny. The Mugnier family has owned its core vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges since the 19th century, including the 9.76-hectare Clos de la Maréchale monopole, which returned to estate management in 2003 after a long lease to Faiveley.
100% Pinot Noir from the youngest vines within the Clos de la Maréchale, bottled separately under the historical name 'Clos des Fourches' (the original name of the Clos before it was renamed in the 19th century). Expect a smoother, more supple expression than the Premier Cru proper, with lifted floral aromatics, raspberry, Morello cherry and gentle spice, leading into a fine-grained, accessible palate showing Mugnier's signature elegance.
Hand-harvested and gently vinified to preserve aromatic purity, then matured in French oak barrels in the traditional Mugnier style.
