A Grand Cru red Burgundy from Domaine Hubert Lignier, the family estate based in Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits. The Lignier family has been making wine here since 1880, and today Laurent Lignier runs the estate, with organic farming certification achieved in 2019 and a low-intervention approach in the cellar.
100% Pinot Noir from the historic Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. Expect a classic Côte de Nuits Grand Cru with dark fruit, anise and spice aromatics, a medium- to full-bodied, sensual palate with energy and depth, and the kind of lively, licorice-tinged structure that rewards time in the cellar.
Hand-harvested, with partial whole-cluster fermentation, and aged in French oak (around 20–30% new) for 20–21 months with no racking after malolactic fermentation. Bottled by gravity, typically without fining or filtration.
