Domaine Henri Boillot is one of the leading names of the Côte de Beaune, prized for Pinot Noir that combines purity of fruit with polish and precision. Les Frémiets is a premier cru on the northern edge of Volnay, close to the Pommard border, and it tends to give wines with a little more flesh and generosity than many of its neighbours.
Volnay is celebrated for producing some of the most elegant and perfumed reds in all of Burgundy, and Les Frémiets adds a firmer, more structured backbone to that signature grace. It offers early charm without sacrificing the ability to age.
Expect a fragrant bouquet of red cherry, raspberry and wild flowers, framed by a touch of cedar from oak ageing.
