From one of Burgundy's most revered Premier Cru vineyards, Domaine de la Pousse d'Or's Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses is a wine of extraordinary grace and finesse. This historic Volnay-based estate, spanning 17 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines, has crafted wines since the 16th century. Les Amoureuses sits adjacent to Grand Cru Musigny and is widely regarded as a Grand Cru in all but name, its chalky limestone and marl soils producing Pinot Noir of remarkable purity and elegance.
The 2023 vintage offers a beautifully floral nose of violets, rose petals, raspberry and blackcurrant, with delicate stony minerality. The palate is sensual and silky, with fine-grained tannins, impressive depth of wild berry fruit, and a vibrant acidity that carries the wine to a long, lingering finish. Fermented with indigenous yeasts following a five-day cold maceration, it is aged for 15 months in oak barrels (30% new), then bottled unfined and unfiltered by gravity flow.
This is an incarnation of Burgundian elegance — a wine that balances power and delicacy with consummate poise. Built for cellaring, it will reward patience handsomely over the coming decades.
