Cobaw Ridge's 'High Density' Pinot Noir is a single-block wine from the certified organic and biodynamic vineyard of Alan and Nelly Cooper in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria. The block was planted in 2011 at just under 7,000 vines per hectare - far tighter than standard plantings - with a mix of clones including 777, Q390-02, Pommard, Abel, 115 and MV6.
The result is a more concentrated, darker-fruited expression than the estate's Original Pinot, with brooding dark cherry, strawberry, ginger spice and a core of fine, grippy tannins. Cool-climate, high-altitude (around 610m) site character comes through in bright acidity and savoury depth.
Matured in around 25–30% new French oak with minimal intervention - no fining, filtration or stabilisation, and only a small sulphur addition at bottling. Sealed under DIAM cork.
