By Farr is one of Australia's most admired small producers, based at Bannockburn in the cool Geelong region of Victoria. Farrside is one of the estate's single-block Pinot Noirs, taking its name from the far side of the home vineyard, grown on limestone and volcanic soils.
Hand-picked fruit is fermented with natural yeasts and matured in French oak. This is the fuller, more powerful of the estate's Pinots, showing dark cherry and black plum with woodsy spice, over a palate of creamy texture and rich varietal depth, layered with clove and a fine mineral edge.
Savoury, spicy and structured, it is a distinctive cool-climate Pinot Noir built to age gracefully.
