Ca' del Baio is a fourth-generation family estate in Treiso, crafting classically styled Barbaresco from some of Piedmont's most coveted vineyard sites. Asili is one of the grand crus of the Barbaresco DOCG, a south-facing amphitheatre of calcareous marl renowned for producing Nebbiolo of great elegance and finesse.
This single-vineyard bottling is pure Nebbiolo, showing a bright garnet colour and a fragrant bouquet of red cherry, raspberry, violet and rose, underpinned by savoury notes of liquorice, tar and dried herbs. The palate is refined and structured, with silky yet firm tannins, fresh acidity and a wonderfully perfumed, lingering finish.
Matured in oak in the traditional manner, Asili drinks well with a few years of bottle age and will continue to develop over a decade or more. It pairs beautifully with braised meats, truffle dishes, aged cheeses and hearty Piedmontese cuisine.
