Currà is one of the two single vineyard Barbaresco in the Bruno Rocca range, and the softer of the pair. Where Rabaja is all frame and authority, Currà gives velvet: rounder fruit, a plusher texture and an easier charm, without losing the savoury Nebbiolo backbone.
Look for ripe black cherry and raspberry, violets, sweet baking spice and a touch of cocoa, with dried herbs and a fine mineral edge behind. The palate is generous and silky, the tannins ripe and finely polished, carrying through to a long, gently spicy finish shaped by French oak.
The estate covers fifteen hectares and is run by Bruno alongside his daughter Luisa and son Francesco, farming without synthetic fertilisers or treatments and working to keep the vineyards biologically diverse. Beautiful with braised beef, duck, mushroom risotto or a plate of Piedmontese cheeses.
