The Reserve Pinot Noir is the pinnacle of the Bass Phillip range — a wine produced only in the finest years, from the oldest and most privileged parcels of the South Gippsland estate. The 2018 is the final vintage of the Reserve made under founder Phillip Jones, who established the estate in 1979; the winery was sold in 2020 to a consortium led by Burgundian winemaker Jean-Marie Fourrier.
100% Pinot Noir from the estate's most favoured vines. The Reserve is renowned for its ethereal, lacy yet long and powerful profile — the most refined and detailed expression of Bass Phillip's style — combining concentration and finesse with great ageing potential.
Hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts and matured in fine-grained French oak. The farming is biodynamic, with low crops, no irrigation and minimal intervention in the winery. Bottled unfiltered.
