Arnaud Mortet farms his own holdings in Gevrey-Chambertin alongside his sister Clémence, using the same team and cellar as the famed Domaine Denis Mortet. Ma Cuvée is his village expression of the appellation, drawn from a number of parcels scattered across Gevrey planted to mature Pinot Noir vines, and it has quickly earned a following for its purity and charm.
This is a wine of red fruit and finesse, with aromas of sweet cherry, red berries and a hint of plum lifted by a floral, potpourri note. The palate is medium to full-bodied yet lively and fine-boned, carrying ripe fruit over a supple, well-defined frame that reflects the quality of the fruit and the gentle hand in the cellar.
Serve it at cool cellar temperature alongside roast duck, herb-crusted lamb, mushroom dishes or a board of soft washed-rind cheeses. A little time in the glass rewards patience, so consider decanting briefly before pouring.
