From Domaine Yves Cuilleron, a benchmark producer of the Northern Rhône based in Chavanay. Founded by his grandfather in 1920 and taken over by Yves in 1987, the estate now spans the major Northern Rhône appellations and works in a parcel-by-parcel style with hand harvesting and native-yeast fermentations.
A single-vineyard cuvée of 100% Roussanne from the Lieu-dit Digue, a steep, south-facing hillside in the commune of Saint-Pierre-de-Bœuf in the southern part of the Saint-Joseph appellation. The soils are made up of dark anatexites and migmatite over granite. Expect aromas of white flowers, peach, apricot, honey and toasted hazelnut, leading into a structured, mineral-driven palate with notes of stone fruit and a softly oaked finish.
Hand-picked through successive sortings, then aged for 9 months in oak barrels and large foudres on lees, building structure and aromatic complexity.
