The Viñas del Vero La Miranda de Secastilla Blanco is a characterful white from the Somontano region in the foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees. Made from white grenache (Garnacha Blanca), it draws on old vines planted on stony hillsides at more than 700 metres of altitude, where cool nights and a Mediterranean microclimate help the fruit ripen slowly and hold onto its freshness.
Pale gold in the glass, it opens with aromas of white orchard fruit, a touch of baked apple and a gentle hint of toasted nuts. The palate is bright and clean, balancing ripe stone fruit and citrus against a fresh line of acidity, with a subtle creaminess from a short period of maturation in oak.
Rounded yet lively, it is a versatile food wine that suits seafood, grilled fish and Mediterranean-style salads. A lovely expression of what white grenache can achieve in the high vineyards of northern Spain.
