Alpha Estate Malagouzia is a characterful Greek white wine crafted from the aromatic Malagouzia grape, an indigenous variety once close to extinction and now celebrated as one of Greece's finest whites. It is produced by Alpha Estate, founded in 1997 by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and oenologist Angelos Iatridis in the high-altitude Amyndeon region of Florina, in the country's north-west.
The estate's vineyards sit on an elevated plateau some 600 metres above sea level, where cool nights and a continental climate help preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. This wine offers expressive floral notes with hints of rose petal, ripe melon, stone fruit and citrus blossom, lifted by a subtle herbal edge.
Time spent resting on its fine lees lends a creamy texture and added depth, while bright acidity keeps the palate lively and balanced. Serve well chilled as an aperitif or alongside seafood, white meats and fresh Mediterranean dishes.
