Utzinger Wines is a small, family-run label in Tasmania's Tamar Valley, founded by Matthias and Lauren Utzinger and quickly building a reputation for finely crafted cool-climate wines. The White Label is their approachable, drink-now expression of Pinot Noir, drawn from West Tamar fruit.
Hand-picked and made with a portion of whole bunches, wild fermentation and time on skins before basket pressing to mostly older French oak, it is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The result is a bright, perfumed Pinot with spicy sour cherry and strawberry fruit, a savoury edge and a supple, fresh palate.
A versatile and charming red, it pairs well with duck, mushroom dishes, roast pork and charcuterie, and a slight chill suits it nicely.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
