Pooley Cooinda Vale Pinot Noir 2023 750ml

The 2023 growing season began with budburst in September and flowering in November. Challenging conditions arose due to heavy wind and rain during flowering, with 230mm of rainfall recorded at both vineyard sites between October and December 2022. This led to poor fruit set and reduced yields. However, late December saw the end of the rain and a shift from the La Niña pattern to a drier, warmer El Niño phase. The mild summer, free of extreme heat, allowed for steady, gradual development of flavour, acidity, sugar, and tannins—ideal conditions for producing high-quality wine.
