Pierre Girardin's village Chassagne-Montrachet is a Chardonnay from one of the Côte de Beaune's most celebrated white wine communes. Girardin, a thirteenth-generation vigeron who founded his own domaine in Meursault at just 21, farms organically across all holdings with an eye toward full certification.
Fermented with indigenous yeasts in his signature 456-litre barrels designed to reduce oak influence, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Green apple, juicy pear, white flowers and flint minerality characterise the nose, while the palate is silky and textured with a drinking window of five to ten years.
