Yattarna is Penfolds' flagship white wine, the result of a long-running quest to create an Australian Chardonnay of world class. Often referred to as the "white Grange", Bin 144 is sourced from premium cool-climate vineyards across southern Australia, with fruit typically drawn from regions such as Tasmania, the Adelaide Hills and Tumbarumba.
It is a Chardonnay of poise and precision, revealing aromas of grapefruit, white peach, nectarine and lemon curd, layered with flinty, struck-match complexity and subtle notes of toasted nuts and spice from barrel fermentation. The palate is taut and elegantly structured, its concentrated stone-fruit and citrus flavours driven by a fine, mineral acidity through a long, seamless finish.
Partly fermented and matured in French oak, it is a benchmark Australian white that drinks superbly now yet has the structure to age with distinction. Serve with roast poultry, seafood, or creamy pasta dishes.
