Domaine Lucien Muzard, based in Santenay, produces this Meursault from the Les Meix Chavaux lieu-dit in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune. Grown on calcareous clay soils with a southeast exposure, the site lends the wine a mineral-driven focus alongside classic Meursault richness.
The nose is inviting, with acacia blossom, ripe apple and pear, a suggestion of lemon rind and gentle hazelnut. The palate is full-bodied and creamy, offering peach, melon and lemon-cake flavours framed by baking spice and a light toasted nuance, all held together by fresh acidity and a long, persistent finish.
Generous yet balanced, it is a fine match for roast poultry, creamy fish dishes and richer soft cheeses.
