J.J. Prüm is one of the Mosel's most legendary estates, and its gold capsule bottlings represent a special selection reserved for the finest lots of a vintage. This Graacher Himmelreich Auslese Goldkapsel comes from the steep, blue-slate slopes above the village of Graach, hand-picked from the ripest, most botrytis-affected bunches to produce a wine of exceptional concentration.
The gold capsule, or Goldkapsel, denotes a richer and more intense expression than a standard Auslese, with greater depth of sweetness and complexity. Expect opulent aromas of apricot, honeyed peach, quince and dried mango, underscored by exotic spice and the estate's hallmark slate minerality.
On the palate it is lusciously sweet yet perfectly poised, its honeyed richness held in balance by racy, vibrant acidity that keeps the long finish fresh and precise. A wine of great pedigree, it can be enjoyed now but will reward decades in the cellar. Serve well chilled with rich desserts, blue cheeses, or simply on its own.
