Dublin's Own comes from the Dublin Whiskey Distillery Company, the outfit reviving the historic D.W.D. name that was once among the best known in Irish whiskey.
It is a blend of triple distilled malt and grain whiskeys, matured in bourbon barrels for between three and six years. The nose gives honey, vanilla and butter with a nutty spice edge that turns towards candied fruit. The palate is light and buttery, with natural grain sweetness, caramel, toffee and a hint of gentle wood spice, before a finish of dark chocolate and clove.
Easy going and softly spiced, it makes a straightforward everyday Irish whiskey, whether neat, over ice or in a highball.
