Domaine Zind-Humbrecht's Pinot Blanc is drawn from some of Alsace's most storied vineyards, blending Pinot Blanc with its regional partner Auxerrois from parcels including Herrenweg and Rotenberg. The Humbrecht family has tended vines in Turckheim since 1620, and biodynamic Olivier Humbrecht MW continues to produce some of Alsace's most site-driven whites.
The 2024 is described by the estate as a more "classical" vintage — moderate ripeness, restrained alcohol and bright natural acidity after a cooler, wetter growing season than recent years. Expect fresh orchard fruit, white flowers and a gentle stone-fruit core, carried by the supple texture and brisk line of acidity that marks Alsace Pinot Blanc at its best.
Extended pressing, natural fermentation and eight months on lees in 40-year-old French barrels lend quiet depth without overt oak influence. An immensely versatile white, equally at home with charcuterie, Alsatian tarte flambée, or as a refreshing aperitif.
