'Lulu & Lucien' is the heart of Domaine Tempier's Bandol Rouge tradition, renamed from the former 'Classique' cuvée in tribute to Lulu Peyraud and her husband Lucien, the founders who shaped this iconic Provençal estate from 1936 onwards. It remains the benchmark entry into Tempier's world and one of the touchstone red wines of Provence.
Anchored by roughly 75% Mourvèdre with support from Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan and a little Syrah, the 2022 offers a vibrant, structured profile. Aromas of dark berries, black plum and earthy spice lead into tobacco, leather and wild herbs, while the palate carries firm tannins, a core of mineral freshness, and a long, elegant finish.
Hand-harvested clusters are de-stemmed and crushed into concrete vats for 3–4 weeks of native-yeast fermentation, then aged a minimum of 18 months in large oak foudres before bottling. Drinking beautifully from 2026 and with at least another decade of cellaring ahead.
