Domaine Rougeot is a family estate in Meursault now in its fifth generation, with organic and biodynamic vineyards spread across the Côte de Beaune. Pierre-Henri Rougeot sets aside a handful of barrels each year that are bottled with no added sulphur under the domaine's Nature label, always in very small quantities.
Clos des Roses is the family's name for a walled plot of a little under one hectare within the Rue au Port lieu-dit of Pommard, owned exclusively by the Rougeots. Its alluvial soils sit close to the stream that runs through the village. Fermented largely as whole bunches, the wine offers aromas of rose petal, fresh strawberry and cherry with a touch of spice and earth, leading to a silky, supple palate.
Pair with roast duck, lamb rack, mushroom dishes or aged hard cheeses.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
