Domaine Moreau-Naudet was established in 1950 and became one of the most respected names in Chablis under Stéphane Moreau, who took over in 1991. Today Virginie Moreau leads the estate, keeping to organic treatments, hand work in the vines, manual harvesting and low yields, with fruit picked slightly later than many neighbours for added depth.
Forêts is a climat of the left bank Premier Cru Montmains, sited on a south-east facing slope with Kimmeridgian limestone soils. Fermented with natural yeasts and aged on fine lees without new oak, this cuvée offers lemon zest, white peach and subtle floral notes, carried by a saline, chalky texture and bright, mouth-watering acidity through to a long mineral finish.
A superb match for oysters, crab, grilled snapper or creamy chicken dishes, and well worth a few years in the cellar.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
