Domaine Mee Godard is best known for its Morgon reds, but Mee also makes a small amount of white from Chardonnay. Born in South Korea and trained in Oregon, Montpellier and Burgundy, she established her Beaujolais estate in 2013 and has farmed organically since 2017.
This Beaujolais Blanc comes from Chardonnay vines on alluvial soils near Belleville. It is vinified and aged in concrete, which keeps the focus on fruit and texture rather than oak. The nose offers yellow plum, lemon verbena and a hint of lime. The palate is medium-bodied and gently creamy, with peach and apricot fruit carried by lively acidity through to a long, polished finish.
Enjoy it now or over the next few years with roast chicken, pan-fried fish, creamy pasta or soft cheeses.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
