Domaine Gilbert Picq et ses Fils is a much-loved family estate based in the village of Chichée, just south-east of Chablis, now run by Gilbert's children. The domaine is celebrated for pure, transparent Chablis that puts terroir front and centre.
This village Chablis is made entirely without oak, fermented with indigenous yeasts and raised in stainless steel to preserve the character of Chardonnay grown on Kimmeridgian limestone. The result is steely and precise, with citrus zest, green apple and white flowers over a distinctly saline, flinty minerality and crisp, racy acidity.
A benchmark, food-friendly Chablis, it is hard to beat with oysters, seafood, goat's cheese and lighter poultry dishes.
