Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is a Chassagne-Montrachet family estate founded in 1985, run today by Céline Fontaine-Gagnard and her husband Fred Robert (previously at Domaine Armand Rousseau). The family works 12 hectares across the Côte de Beaune, with holdings in three grand crus and an emphasis on classical, age-worthy Burgundian winemaking.
A regional Bourgogne Rouge in a cooler-vintage style, 100% Pinot Noir from Côte de Beaune parcels. The 2021 shows the lifted aromatics and vibrant freshness that define the vintage — red cherry, cranberry and rose petal, with silky tannins and a bright, mineral-edged finish.
Fermented spontaneously on native yeasts and matured for around 18 months in French oak barrels from the estate's existing cooperage.
