Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is a family estate in Chassagne-Montrachet founded in 1985 by Laurence Gagnard and Richard Fontaine, today run by their daughter Céline with her husband Fred Robert (ex-Domaine Armand Rousseau). The domaine farms 12 hectares across Chassagne, Volnay and Pommard, and is best known for its great whites — though its reds, in this classically structured style, deserve equal attention.
A regional Bourgogne Rouge, 100% Pinot Noir sourced from the Côte de Beaune. The 2019 — a warmer, generous vintage — offers aromas of ripe red cherry, raspberry and a touch of spice, with a round, supple palate carried by fine tannins and fresh acidity. An elegant, early-drinking red Burgundy.
Fermented with native yeasts and matured for around 18 months in French oak barrels, drawn from the estate's multi-year cooperage rotation.
