Domaine Follin-Arbelet is a revered family estate nestled in the village of Aloxe-Corton, in Burgundy's celebrated Cote de Beaune. Founded by Franck Follin-Arbelet in 1993 — the first in his family to devote himself to viticulture despite generations of vineyard ownership — the domaine has earned a sterling reputation for its precise, terroir-driven wines. His son Simon joined in 2017, continuing the family's commitment to meticulous, traditional winemaking.
The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is the crowning jewel of the domaine's white wine production. Sourced from one of Burgundy's most storied Grand Cru vineyards on the upper slopes of the hill of Corton, the Chardonnay grapes are whole-bunch pressed immediately after harvest. The must settles overnight before being transferred to oak barrels, where it undergoes a slow, natural fermentation over several weeks to months, followed by 16 to 20 months of careful maturation.
On the nose, expect alluring notes of citrus, fresh bread, blanched almonds and subtle honeyed undertones. The palate is at once opulent and finely chiselled — rich with layered fruit and toasted nut complexity, yet underpinned by a striking minerality, bright acidity and impressive length. This is a Grand Cru of real stature, built for the cellar but already showing its pedigree and poise.
