Aigue Marine — named for the aquamarine gemstone, evoking the crystalline quality of the wine — is a dry white from Domaine des Ardoisières made from 100% Roussanne grown on the domaine's steep, biodynamically farmed terraces in the French Alps near Cevins.
Aged in a combination of amphora, stainless steel and barrel for approximately 10 months, fermented with native yeasts and bottled with minimal sulphur, no fining and no filtration. The result is a floral and complex white with richness balanced by alpine freshness — a compelling showcase of what Roussanne can achieve in the hands of one of France's most innovative winemakers, Brice Omont.
