From Domaine de la Vougeraie, the Boisset family's prestigious estate based in Premeaux-Prissey between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Founded in 1999 to bring together the finest Burgundian vineyard holdings the Boisset group had acquired since 1964, the domaine today farms around 44 hectares spread across more than 30 appellations and is certified organic, with biodynamic principles applied throughout the vineyards.
From the historic Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle Premier Cru, a 4.5-hectare site whose vines were first established by Cistercian monks in the 12th century. The vineyard sits on deep marl and clay over limestone, and the wine is 100% Chardonnay. Expect a pale lemon hue with delicate aromas of orange rind, clementine and ripe orchard fruit, leading into a slightly creamy, refined palate with fine acidity, generous fruit weight and a lingering, persistent finish.
Whole-bunch pressed and aged for 16 months in oak barrels followed by a short period in stainless steel, with very light filtration before bottling.
