Domaine de la Vougeraie is a respected Burgundy estate farming biodynamically across a patchwork of vineyards in the Cote d'Or. This wine comes from Les Mazoyeres, a parcel within the Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the Cote de Nuits.
Charmes-Chambertin from this site is prized for its quietly earthy, complex character. Look for dark berry fruit, cassis and wild cherry mingling with undergrowth, iron, graphite and forest floor. The palate is medium to full-bodied and silky, framed by firm yet polished tannins and carried by a long, saline finish.
