From Domaine de la Vougeraie, the Boisset family's prestigious estate based in Premeaux-Prissey between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Founded in 1999 to bring together the finest Burgundian vineyard holdings the Boisset group had acquired since 1964, the domaine today farms around 44 hectares spread across more than 30 appellations and is certified organic, with biodynamic principles applied throughout the vineyards.
One of Burgundy's most prized white Grand Crus, Bâtard-Montrachet sits on the gentle slopes between Puligny and Chassagne. 100% Chardonnay, grown on deep, brown limestone soils enriched with clay. Expect a wine of profound depth and harmony, expressive yet weightless, with great freshness and an elegant interplay of fruit, mineral and almost imperceptibly judged oak.
Whole-bunch pressed and gently settled, then aged 16 months in oak barrels (around 28% new) followed by two months in stainless steel before bottling.
