Domaine Corcia is a family estate in Mercurey, in Burgundy's Côte Chalonnaise, taken over by the Corcia family in 2021 from the former Domaine de la Vieille Fontaine. Raphaël Corcia runs the vineyards and cellar, converting the domaine's four or so hectares to organic farming with biodynamic methods.
Les Crêts is a premier cru vineyard on calcareous slopes above Les Nauges, and the domaine's white comes from a tiny parcel of just under a quarter of a hectare planted with Chardonnay in 1949. It opens with a powerful, mineral nose, leading to white fruit, peach skin and citrus alongside hints of pastry and white flowers. The palate is rich yet well proportioned, with a satiny texture and a chalky finish.
This is a white for special occasions, ideal with lobster, roast chicken with morels, veal in a cream sauce or aged Comté.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
